WASHINGTON – Congressman Dale Strong issued the following statement after House Republicans again advanced legislation to end the Democrats’ Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown and pay all DHS personnel:
WASHINGTON – During a National Weather Service Oversight hearing, Congressman Dale Strong, Vice Chair of the Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Subcommittee, pushed for answers on the National Weather Service’s plans to replace a decades-old weather radar system that serves as a lifeline for hazardous weather warnings across North Alabama and the Tennessee Valley.
WASHINGTON— Congressman Dale Strong is calling for immediate action to restore Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding, urging Democrats to stop holding critical funding hostage and put politics aside. He warned that continued delays put unnecessary strain on the dedicated men and women who safeguard communities across the nation – including in North Alabama.

Congressman Dale Strong has deep family roots in North Alabama. A graduate of Sparkman High School, Dale holds a bachelor’s degree from Athens State University and an EMT license from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
No stranger to hard work, Dale grew up working at his father’s country store. Dale’s father, Horace, launched a tour bus business taking North Alabama school and church groups on charter trips across the country. Working alongside his father, Dale’s efforts helped put him, his brother and sister through college.
