Congressman Strong Votes to Keep the Government Working for the American People
Washington, D.C. - Congressman Dale W. Strong (AL-05) released the following statement today after voting to keep the federal government working for the American people:
“Passing this clean continuing resolution is about keeping the government working for the American people. This temporary measure will ensure our government stays open and allow time for Congress to complete full-year appropriations the right way – through regular order and with fiscal responsibility at the forefront.
“I am proud of the work that House Appropriators have accomplished in drafting and advancing all 12 Fiscal Year 2026 funding bills through committee. This Congress has already demonstrated that we can exceed expectations and meet difficult deadlines. Now, it’s time to finish the job over the next seven weeks and get these bills to President Trump’s desk.”
H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026, is a clean, short-term continuing resolution to fund Government agencies at current levels through November 21, 2025.
