House Passes Eighth Fiscal Year 2026 Spending Bill

January 14, 2026

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Dale Strong, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, applauds the passage of H.R. 7006 , the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2026

The package includes two Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 funding bills that ensure the Executive Branch has the resources it needs to execute its mandate given by the people and advance America’s national security priorities at home and abroad:

  • Financial Services and General Government

  • National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs

“As your representative, my responsibility is to defend our nation, protect American taxpayers, and ensure Washington is accountable to the people it serves,” said Congressman Strong. “This package delivers on those priorities."

FINANCIAL SERVICES AND GENERAL GOVERNMENT

The Financial Services and General Government bill advances a conservative, accountable approach to federal spending and regulation, while fully supporting the Treasury Department’s efforts to maintain a strong economy and financial system.

It also helps small businesses, community banks, and credit unions drive economic growth by eliminating Biden-era provisions.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Eliminates Biden-era regulatory burdens that have hamstrung businesses and includes provisions that support entrepreneurship and small business development.

  • Protects taxpayers from IRS overreach and redirects resources toward customer service and technology support to serve taxpayers.

  • Protects small businesses, community banks, and credit unions from overreach.

  • Strengthens financial oversight and transparency across federal agencies.

NATIONAL SECURITY, DEPARTMENT OF STATE

The National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs bill advances a disciplined, America First foreign policy that keeps the United States safer, stronger, and more secure.  It directly supports Secretary Rubio's efforts to protect and promote U.S. security, prosperity, and democratic values.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Eliminates wasteful spending on woke programming, climate change mandates, and divisive gender ideologies.

  • Redirects funding to support U.S. national security and advances President Trump’s America First foreign policy.

  • Increases support for religious freedom programs and holds foreign governments accountable for their persecution of people of faith, including by restricting access to assistance to Nigeria until actions are taken to protect Christian communities.

  • Holds the U.N. accountable by withholding additional funding until standards are met on financial transparency, elimination of antisemitism, terrorism, and prevention of aid diversion.

  • Puts American businesses first by prioritizing diplomatic engagement to favorably resolve commercial disputes abroad and promote American business interests.
