Securing the Border

I am proud to serve as a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security and as a member of the Subcommittees on Emergency Management and Technology (EMT) and Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability (OIA).

Today's situation at our southern border is nothing short of a crisis. Each day, I hear stories from North Alabama and across the country of the dangers posed by our porous southern border; from illegal drugs being smuggled across by transnational criminals, to unauthorized migrants intending to live and work in the United States. Since I took office, I have visited the southern border twice, and have witnessed the crisis firsthand.

I will continue to prioritize legislation that strengthens our borders, resumes border wall construction, and tightens our immigration laws.
