Washington – Representative Dale Strong successfully championed a provision in H.R. 3838, the House-passed National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, to allow military installations to contract personnel for security guard functions when enlisted soldiers are not available.

This bill safeguards America’s national security, strengthens energy independence, and curbs wasteful government spending. The legislation passed the U.S. House of Representatives on a 214 to 213 vote.

The vital legislation provides funding that underscores a steadfast commitment to reinforcing America’s military superiority, shapes a more efficient and effective Department of Defense (DoD), protects U.S. assets at home and abroad, and takes care of troops and their families. The legislation passed the U.S. House of Representatives on a 221-209 vote.
